Corymbia ficifolia is a spectacular tree growing to 9m x 3m with a spreading crown and terminal clusters of bright red to orange flowers during summer.

Originating and growing best in Western Australia, they will grow in the worst, sandy, infertile soil but do not like heavy clay soils and will suffer some root rot if left too damp for too long. Well drained loams containing compost will serve it best
