White Cedar (Melia azedarach) is a beautiful shade tree native to the east coast of Australia.

It is drought tolerant and can also tolerate temporary inundation.

It thrives in a wide variety of soil types (from sand through to heavy clay), is quite frost tolerant, and fire retardant.

Melia azedarach is a fast growing tree to 20m, and due to its ornamental value it is often planted as a street tree.

One of only a few winter-deciduous trees native to Australia.
