Bananas need a frost-free, north-facing site protected from wind. Bananas need good supplies of water and fertiliser in the warmer months, lots of organic matter in the soil and a good mulch layer. 

Pollination: Self-fertile

Fruit: Any time of the year, however it takes 12-18 months for a bunch to mature from when flowers first appear. Bunches are generally produced every 18 months to 2 years.
