Persea americana (B) - Edranol Avocado
A medium sized fruit with a rough dark green skin and butter yellow flesh.
Matures: July - October
Pollination: Type B - Self fertile but benefits from cross pollination with Hass, Reed, Wurtz or Pinkerton. Pollinated by bees. Pollination will be adversely affected if Spring temperatures are below 10 at night and below 20 during the day.
Growing Regions: Prefers warm coastal regions with slightly sandy, well-drained soil. Avocadoes are prone to root rot, so require well-drained soils but also need irrigation in dry months.
Size: Can grow to 8m, but should be pruned after harvest to keep at 3m.
