Prunus virginiana 'Purple Jewel' is a hardy non-fruiting plum growing to 5m x 4m with large leaves starting green and turning a deep wine red, with gorgeous, soft, blue-mauve undersides.

It holds its leaves until late into Autumn.

Foliage colours will be more dynamic when grown in open, sunny positions.
