Sorbus aucuparia - Rowan Tree

  • Sorbus aucuparia is a deciduous Tree growing to 15 m x 7 m with a medium growth rate.
    It is hardy and not frost tender. It is in flower from December to January, and the seeds ripen from February to March. The flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Insects. Tolerates most soils including clay, but prefers moist well-drained soil,  and can grow in either very acid or very alkaline soils.
    It can grow in semi-shade or full sun and can tolerate maritime exposure and atmospheric pollution.
